For 30 years Henley Africa has been developing African business leaders with impact. The LIFT! Programme will expand your skills and broaden your thinking as you gain an understanding of what it takes to break through and advance your career. The programme will take you through a carefully designed process of learning, growth, and reflective practice enabling you to integrate what you learn into your daily work and build confidence in your management ability.

No formal qualification? No problem!

LIFT! is designed for managers, team leaders, supervisors and entrepreneurs who are ambitious but feel they’re being held back because they don’t have a formal qualification. This programme will boost your business acumen and grow your confidence in your own abilities. Graduates tell us that the most powerful outcome of LIFT! is that it validates the skills and experience they already have and opens the door for them to climb higher.

You’ll start to develop the practical management skills needed to create high-performing teams.
You’ll discover better ways to manage your time and energy by being able to delegate.
You’ll gain self-confidence and clarity by better understanding and applying your strengths.

Lift! is an NQF Level 5 accredited qualification that consists of five learning blocks delivered over 12 months. All topics are underpinned by a systems-oriented framework that allows you to build an understanding of business as an ecosystem – a series of interconnected parts that function collectively to create a profitable and sustainable enterprise.

All assessment is project-based and directly related to your role within the organisation. In this way, the work environment effectively becomes the learning laboratory. Individuals learn to apply theory in practice within their own context in their own organisational roles. This action-learning approach will help ensure that you continue to grow beyond the life of the programme.

Programme information

This is a programme for new managers, team leaders or supervisors entering the management arena for the first time.

Admission requirements  

  • A Matric certificate or equivalent qualification at NQF level 4
  • Proof of English proficiency (if your school and/or tertiary study was in another language) 
  • 1-2 years’ work experience, preferably with some junior management/supervisory experience.
